Answer: Rotary eClub One is a website recognized by our club for on-line make-ups. Make-Up at your convenience, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Spending 30 minutes on the website constitutes an On-Line Rotary Meeting. It is a mandatory requirement that your visit duration MUST be 30 minutes or more. The PROGRAMS section provides a wide range of subject matter for your interest. You will have the ability to print out a make-up slip that you can turn in at one of our meetings. Here is the link: http://www.rotoryeclubone.org This link is also available through our club web site at http://www.tullahomanoonrotaryclub.org/index.php Click on "Links" and you will find it listed under the Rotary International links.

Question: I am trying to determine if there is a Rule 82 for attendance? I have been told that if your age and number of years in the club equal or exceed 82 then you can be excused for absentees. I am 53 and think I joined the club in 1975 or 76? If I meet either of these and if this rule exist I would like to apply. Please advise busch@cafes.net

Answer: Per Article VIII, Section 2 of our Clubs Constitution, "a members absence shall be excused if the aggregate of the members years of age and years of membership in one or more clubs is 85 years or more and the member has notified the club secretary in writing of the members desire to be excused from attendance and the Board has approved". Board approval is generally granted only if the members attendance will be below the average attendance for the club. Members with above-average attendance help our clubs attendance figures reported to the District.

Question: I note increased emphasis on Rotary Foundation funding and the continuing extraction from us of 25 dollars per quarter for this noble cause. Should not there be an understandable financial report on these funds so that each of us givers can understand where we stand re Fellow Status?

Answer: HOW LONG OH HOW LONG!!! will it take to get an understandable answer to my month old question concerning the status of our quarterly donated Rotary Foundation Funds? My enthusiasm for donating 25 dollars per quarter toward this effort is waning and soon will be in a state of total wanement.

Answer: Thanks to the efforts of Randy Smith and Steve Cope, I have received the following answer to my question: "Bob, The question is a valid one.  I hope the following will clear this question up and provide a satisfactory answer.  The answer is as follows: Robert L. Young, Rotary Number 578790, Rotary International Records show contributions through December 31, 2001 at $1,425.00.  An additional amount of $100 will be submitted shortly that was collected for the $25 per quarter donations from quarterly billings.  If a contribution is made to the Polio-Plus campaign, that would also be reported as a contribution to the Rotary Foundation. Summary, the next report of Rotary International based on giving to date should show contributions for Robert L. Young at $1,525.00. If Bob would like for the funds to be credited toward a newly designated Paul Harris Fellow, we can transfer the amount over $1,000 to a new designated account.  Given that the amount is currently $525.00, an additional contribution of $250 (matched with the Club's newly announced matched undesignated funds of $250) would achieve a new PHF. Any additional questions, please call or e-mail me. Thanks, Steve" I am pleased to designate the excess to a newly designated PHF. Bob

Answer: A Followup. About 25 members are listed with no email address which could mean that they do not have internet capabilities to get our webpage. I also note that certain members have a # symbol next to their name which indicates that they are to contact the 9 following members should there be an emergency. Perhaps they could also be used to ascertain the capabilities of their nine people to gain access to our webpage and/or to suggest arrangements for them to get information they desire by some means. For example I would be willing for a limited number of people to upon their request print out and get to them information they might desire. It is my hope that our officials will consider this matter.
